Mortgage policy shapes how lenders operate, serve borrowers, and manage risk. The TMC Advocacy Committee exists to ensure our network is not reacting from the sidelines, but actively shaping the policies that affect mortgage lending every day.
This committee delivers coordinated, informed advocacy by bringing the collective voice of TMC’s Lender Members and Partners directly to regulators, legislators, and federal agencies.
The Advocacy Committee is built to move policy forward. Members work together to monitor legislative activity, analyze regulatory proposals, and respond with coordinated advocacy that reflects real lender experience.
We engage directly with agencies including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Housing Finance Agency, Ginnie Mae, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the GSEs. Committee members also bring state-level insight through leadership roles within state MBA organizations, providing a unique lens into how policy impacts lenders across markets.
We shape mortgage policy through coordinated, member-driven advocacy.
We work to influence federal and state regulation by providing timely analysis, clear positions, and informed responses rooted in operational reality.
This committee supports fair lending practices, consumer protection, and regulatory clarity that allows lenders to serve borrowers responsibly and sustainably.
Participation in the Advocacy Committee is available to TMC Lender Members & Preferred Partners who want to engage more deeply in policy dialogue and contribute to informed industry discussion.
Whether you bring regulatory expertise, operational insight, or regional perspective, your voice helps strengthen the collective understanding of the issues facing mortgage lending.
